Referee-Gate Continues: Reports Of Donaghy’s Calls To Another Ref
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Off The Court Issues
“Fox News” reported Monday that former NBA referee Tim Donaghy made over 100 phone calls to another NBA ref, during the period that he was supplying inside information to his associates.? The report states that Donaghy allegedly made? 134 calls to NBA referee Scott Foster between October of 2006 and April of 2007. Donaghy has previously pleaded guilty to providing information, as well as betting on games during that window.
The NBA released a statement later on Monday that Foster had been questioned on the matter. The statement read “The government had complete access to Tim Donaghy’s phone records and thoroughly investigated this matter, including conducting an interview of referee Scott Foster. The government has said that they have found no evidence of criminal conduct aside from that of Mr. Donaghy. Once again, the only criminal conduct is that of Mr. Donaghy.”
