Words are starting to get a little heated over in Sacramento where Ron Artest is going though his latest bout of insecurity. ?Apparently “Tru-Warrior” felt disrespected by the Maloof brothers who own the team that Artest plays on the Sacramento Kings. Artest could have done what Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, and Baron Davis did and opt out of the final?year of his contract. However he did not, electing to stay with the Kings and give up his shot at free agency.

Almost from the moment that the calendar turned to July 1, the veteran seems to be regretting the decision. Last week he made statements, that the Maloof brothers did not appreciate him, and this weekend he took it to another level. Artest told reporters that he was seeking a trade, and that he was now representing himself. This news came as quite a? shock to “Tru-Warrior’s” agent who when contacted by reporters, told them that their relaying the story was the first he had heard of that information.

Tuesday Kings team owner Joe Maloof responded to Artest’s dramatics. The “Sacramento Bee” spoke with the Kings owner about the ongoing situation. Maloof told reporters “He has to balance the way he acts. He’s got to control his emotions a little better. You’ve got to try and keep your cool a little bit! Take a deep breath and quit flying off the handle with comments that don’t make sense. I hate to say it that way, but that’s how I feel. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

The Kings owner said that Artest’s statements have “never changed our opinions of him. We brag about him every chance we get. We speak out about how appreciative we are for everything he’s done. And he’s done a lot. People like him. We like him. He’s just got to settle down.”

Guys, I think it’s time for some male bonding here, and I have just the suggestion. This weekend the Maloof brothers and Ron should travel a couple of hundred miles up the Pacific Coast to the Muir Woods and go camping. Just think of it, sitting around the campfire, making smores, singing a couple of choruses of “Michael Row Your Boat Ashore.” Sleeping under a blanket of stars, wearing the same clothes all weekend long so that nobody else can stand to be around the three of you, that’s bonding!

So guys have a great time this weekend, and do me just one favor. When you are singing “If I had A Hammer” just remember who suggested this great idea!

[...] Jeff Sack of Slam Dunk Central urges the Maloofs and Ron to overcome their differences with a time-honored manly-men ritual. I’m guessing a Lyme-disease-related reserve list notice is next. Here is the link- Tru-Warrior And The Maloofs Need To Go Camping [...]
