Gomes Says It’s All About The Benjamins

You may think that Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Ryan Gomes has a mercenary attitude, and maybe he does. But at least you have to admire him for his honesty! The “Minneapolis Star Tribune” reported Wednesday that Gomes who is a restricted free agent, is impressed with the way the T-Wolves are progressing. But that will not play as large a role in his decision who to sign with, as another fact. Gomes is looking for what the late great James Brown used to call “The Big Payback”.?Gomes who was a second round pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2005 NBA Draft, came to Minnesota last Summer as part of the deal that sent Kevin Garnett to the Celtics. Gomes told reporters his biggest priority is which team is willing to pay him the most. Gomes said “I’m trying to put myself in the best situation to get the most out of this. I have to look in the mirror and see what’s the best possible situation for me.”
