The Associated Press reported Wednesday that an Oregon state medical examiner has ruled that former NBA center Kevin Duckworth died of congestive heart failure. Duckworth passed away on Monday at the age of only 44 while on a touring trip of the state for the Portland Trail Blazers. Duckworth was in  the midst of touring the state conducting free basketball clinics when he was stricken. The medical examiner ruled that the death was caused by “hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with congestive heart failure.” The autopsy also showed “marked enlargement of his heart which had been failing for some time.”
