The “Baltimore Sun” reported Thursday that Boston Celtics veteran point guard Sam Cassell wants to play one final season, and then become an assistant coach with the team. Cassell, who was waived in February by the Los Angeles Clippers, joined the “Green Team” for the stretch run to the NBA Championship. Boston spokesman Brian Olive would not comment, on the matter. Cassell has been in the Association since 1993, when he was drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets.
