James And Brown Will Compete To Backup Chris Paul
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The “New Orleans Times-Picayune” has reported that New Orleans Hornets head coach Byron Scott says two players will compete to backup All-Star point guard Chris Paul in the upcoming season. Both players are journeyman, Brown who is 30 spent last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. James is 33, and split last season between playing for the Hornets and the Houston Rockets. Last season was a breakout year for Paul, who was the runner up to Kobe Bryant as NBA MVP. He was also a member of Team USA, that brought the Olympic Gold Medal back to the United States last month. Scott said “Those guys will be banging it out to see who gets those minutes. It might be by committee. This is the first time in three years we are going to be unsure who is our backup, but I know how competitive both of those guys are.”
