Believe it or not NBA training camp begins next week! Monday the “St. Paul Pioneer Press” reported that Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor believes he will see his team make major strides in the upcoming season. Last season was a tough one for the T-Wolves as they tried to recover from trading the “Big Ticket” forward Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics. Boston of course went on to win the 2008 NBA Finals, while Minnesota ended up in the lottery. Taylor told the paper he expects the new season will be far more positive for his franchise. Taylor said “Last year, when we put this group together, it was a year to build, to get experience. This year is different; just because last year we let a guy play a lot of minutes, if he doesn’t produce this year, he won’t play a lot of minutes. It will be more on productivity than youth. It’ll be winning rather than getting experience.”
