I think it is academic that Chris Duhon is the starting point guard for the New York Knicks this coming season; try telling that to Stephon Marbury though.  According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, Marbury made it abundantly clear on Tuesday that he feels that he is a starting guard, adding, “I always want to start.  I’m a starter period.  That’s just what it is.  It’s not my choice to be in this situation.  It’s the coach’s choice.  It’s his team and you’ve got to do what he says to do.”

Thus far this preseason, Marbury has been used as a reserve in three preseason games and will apparently stay in that role unless he should be traded or released.  Which is perfect in light of Marbury’s track record with previous Knicks’ head coaches, spotlighted by his antics while Isiah Thomaswas behind the wheel last season.  Not to mention that Duhon was signed by the team as a free agent, which should be a clear message to the narcissistic Marbury that starting - barring an injury or an implosion by Duhon - is not an option.
