This is a preview of all 30 NBA teams and what to look for from each of them. Things such as players to watch out for, pressing needs for each team, etc. Having said that, let’s go to the newest team – geographically – in the NBA, the Oklahoma City Thunder:
I’m going to have to get used to saying Oklahoma City Thunder as it is murder on the keyboard to type (but then again, so were the Seattle SuperSonics, for that matter). Don’t let the first glance of this team fool you; yes, they’re a very young team and won’t be confused with a title contender any time soon, but in this day and age of the NBA, being young is a good thing. But at the same time, youth can kill you, especially in the standings.
The Thunder is one of those teams who will no doubt go through some growing pains as they find their way, with forward Kevin Durant being the navigator of the ship. And it is entirely possible that they may be lucky to eclipse last season’s 20 wins. They can shoot, but their problem lies with the lack of rebounding prowess and they’re not exactly great defenders, either (27th overall in the league last season).
Who To Watch: Russell Westbrook, point guard
Prediction: 5th place, Northwest Division
Next: Boston Celtics
