The “Associated Press” reported Friday that Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West is back with the team after taking some time off to deal with what he labeled as mood swings and depression. West was a restricted free agent who re-signed with Cleveland last month after coming to the franchise last February in a three team trade.

West thanked the team for it’s support, and understanding. He told reporters that before he left camp he was feeling anger, and contemplating leaving his NBA career behind. He is now undregoing counseling, and is taking medication to deal with the problem. West told reporters “In a sense, you feel like a weaker man because you have to raise your hand and ask for help. But I found out over the last week that it made me a stronger person. I came back focused, and with the help of some medicine and talking with people on a regular basis, I’m back in good spirits.” Our thoughts and best wishes from Slam Dunk Central go out to Delonte.
