Zeke And Police Disagree On Details Of Overdose Reports

As Alice once said “Things keep getting curiouser and curiouser.” The “Associated Press” has reported that Harrison, New York police have stated that they took a 47 year old man from the house of Isiah Thomas early Friday morning to the hospital. The police have said the man accidentally overdosed on sleeping pills. Harrison is a suburb of New York City, police have not identified the man and the only information they revealed was his age. Both the “New York Times” and the “New York Post” have  written that unidentified sources told both papers that the victim was the former New York Knicks head coach and Team President Thomas.

Au Contraire, according to Zeke, he claims it was not he who took the sleeping pills, but his teenage daughter who is a high school senior. Thomas told reporters from the Post that it was his daughter who accidentally took the pills, but she was not attempting suicide. The Basketball Hall of Fame guard told the paper “My daughter is very down right now. None of us are OK.”

Zeke’s statements did not sit well with Harrison Police Chief David Hall. Hall told the “New York Times” “I understand that this person claims it was his daughter, he is lying. It was definitely not his daughter, it was a male. We know the difference between a 47-year-old black male and a young black female.” (Fair assumption, one would think even Barney Fife could make that distinction.)

Hall has stated that the still “unidentified victim” was not attempting suicide. The Chief also spoke with Henry Abbott from “ESPN.com.” Hall told the reporter “I can tell you that the prescription pills involved were Lunesta. There were two other people in the house, one of whom had called 911. I don’t know if it was a housekeeper or who it was, but it was not Isiah Thomas’ wife. When we got there, the person was unconscious, but breathing. We administered oxygen, and then when the ambulance arrived they transported the person to White Plains hospital.”
