
With success comes the perks – literally. It was announced by the Boston Celtics on Tuesday that general manager Danny Ainge has been given a new title and a contract extension; specifically, Ainge has been promoted to president of basketball operations while the terms of the contract extension have not been revealed as of this writing. Ainge, in his sixth season in the Celtics’ front office, won NBA executive of the year last year after swinging the trades that brought Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to Boston; he also played for two years with the Celtics.
