A problematic sprained left ankle has kept Utah Jazz point guard Deron Williams from making his debut this season; according to Ross Siler of the Salt Lake Tribune and verified by Williams, he thinks that he is about a week away from rejoining the starting lineup – which, if holds true, means that Williams should play his first game of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.
Things appear to be improving Williams physically as he is no longer undergoing the twice-daily treatment at the Jazz facility but is still using the cold therapy and compression device at home. On Wednesday, Williams was spotted sitting on the Jazz bench, as opposed to behind it so he could stretch the leg out.
