The Phoenix Suns had all five starters in double figures Saturday night, as they shot 55.1 % (38-69) from the floor for the game and handily defeated the visiting Portland Trail Blazers 107-96. Phoenix was led by Amare Stoudemire who registered a double-double, as he scored 23 points, and grabbed 13 boards in the win in front of the fans at US Airways Center.

The Suns started the game with a strong first quarter, leading at the end of the period 29-23. The Blazers would grab the upper hand in the second quarter, heading into the locker room at the half with a paper thin 50-49 advantage. Phoenix seemed to be energized when they took the floor in the third, and they were up 80-72 heading into the fourth. Suns forward Matt Barnes opened the final period hitting a 22 foot trey, and putting his team ahead 83-72. Portland never got closer than 9 points down the rest of the game.

Stoudemire along with his 23 points, 13 rebounds, had 2 assists, 1 steal, in the Phoenix victory. Barnes scored 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, Steve Nash scored 20 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. Shaquille O’Neal had a strong game as he scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block, Raja Bell scored 13 points, 2 steals.

Brandon Roy scored 20 points, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 1 rebound, Rudy Fernandez came in off the bench and also scored 20 points, 1 steal, 1 rebound. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block. Travis Outlaw scored 11 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, Steve Blake also scored 11 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 rebound. Phoenix now stands at 2-1, while the Blazers are at 1-2.
