The Cavaliers have wanted a long time a Robin for their Batman, with that Batman of course being LeBron James. After taking in Monday night’s 100-81 win over the Dallas Mavericks on the road, it seems more evident that they may have finally found that player. Hello Mo Williams. It was the Cavs biggest off-season pickup that was the spark of a big 13-0 run on Monday night that led the Cavs eventually to their 2nd win of the young season.

Williams had 14 points, four rebounds and six assists, but it was his energy that helped out after the Mavs rallied from a 16-point deficit and tied the game at 63. From there, the Cavs took over, outscoring the once mighty Mavs 37-18 the rest of the way. James did have a big night as well, going off for a game-high 29 points, 8 rebounds and three assists. He also was 13-for-15 from the free throw line, maybe the most encouraging sign of the evening.

Five Cavs were in double digits, as Delonte West and Williams both had 14, Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 17 points and 11 boards, and Wally Szczerbiak had 10 points off the bench. Ben Wallace didn’t register a point, but led the team with 13 rebounds. The Cavs jumped out fast, outscoring the Mavs 28-16 after one, and then leading 51-42 at the half.

As always, they were lulled to sleep in the third, when the Mavs rallied to eventually tie the game. From there though, Williams, James and the rest of the team finished off the game with a rally that never allowed the Mavs a moment to breathe. Dallas was led by Josh Howard with 18, but overall their starters were outscored by the Cavs 74-50.

So at 2-2 the team comes home for two games in the next four days, as they will host the Bulls at 8pm on Wednesday, and then Friday play host to the Indiana Pacers. We’ll see if the Batman and Robin duo continue their success on the home court later in the week.
