Baron, Baron, Baron how do you explain thee? Baron Davis comes home for the most lucrative contract of his life. He leaves a team in Golden State where he is King. Understand I worshipped Baron and the Warriors last year. I loved their style of play and I wrote many articles giving praise to Nelly. Baron comes to the lowly Clippers who were 23-59 last year. When he was signed he said the following “I’m here now. That’s all I can say. I want to move forward. I want to take this organization and move it forward. No matter where they’ve been, no matter what’s happened in the past. I have the opportunity to come in and do something great in this city and that’s what I plan to do.”

Baron, so when are you going to do it? I know he was playing with a sore hip but that still does not excuse the dribble up and shoot 3 pointers he took in the fourth quarter of the Lakers game. Can someone tell him he is not in Oakland anymore? It’s no longer Nelly coaching its Dunleavy. It’s the Clippers. The Mike Dunleavy Clippers –WAKE UP!

There is no running and gunning. How can you possibly run with two 7 footers on the floors at the same time (Camby and Kaman)? At least Camby understands the concept of the outlet pass. The same can’t be said for Kaman. So Baron if you are gonna run spare us and run when just Camby is on the floor!

Davis is a great point guard. He proved that in Oakland by making clutch shots down the stretch of a game time after time. He has to place his focus back on making the Clippers successful. He has to improve on his decision making. Bottom line; The Clippers are a better team then the record reflects. For WHATEVER reason they keep collapsing in the fourth quarter.

One can blame multiple people in this fourth quarter collapse syndrome but top on the list has to be Dunleavy. The Clip are averaging 17 points in the fourth quarter. That is just not going to get it done in the NBA. Dunleavy has to do a better job getting production out of his team.  Baron said after the second Lakers loss that “Getting (Marcus) Camby out there helps, we’re still trying to figure out who we are, our rhythm, our identity. I think it’s coming along. We’ve just got to play hard and learn from this. Take this as another learning step. Take a page out of the Laker book and continue to move forward.”

Camby has got to remain on the floor for them to be successful especially if they are trying to buck the trend and start twin towers. Obviously that experiment in NY failed miserably with Randolph and Curry. Let’s hope the Clips have better luck.

The second fiddle of LA Basketball must work on getting back to the basics. Focus on rebounding and defense. Baron is right about one thing. They have a two time First Team Defense Player of the Year and the 06-07 Defensive Player of the Year in Marcus Camby. The defense must revolve around Marcus!

Hopefully Kaman can learn a few things and become a dominant defensive player. Kaman isn’t a slouch on defensive he did average nearly 3 blocks a game last year. Kaman just needs to learn how to refine his defensive game. It’s not all about the blocks it’s also about defensive placement.

Clippers fans, do not give up hope just yet! You did start the season with injuries to Thomas, Camby, and Davis. So to defend this much maligned franchise they have not had their starting 5 on the floor at the same time until this past game. I hope this isn’t a foreshadowing of events to come.

By now Dunleavy should be used to injuries considering he had to go with39 different starting lineups last year. On a positive note it looks like you may have found your energy player in Mike Taylor. He has looked great early on. I am glad to see you have found an apt backup for Baron Davis because I seriously doubt he will be able to play 39 minutes a game like he did for Golden State last year. Baron Davis is a proven winner and I hope that he can bring his winning ways to this franchise that is always overshadowed by the Lakers. Don’t worry this won’t be my last article about the Clip as we all know I have a man crush on Baron Davis. Strap it up Baron put the Clip on your back and lets get that first win!

Slamdunk any advice on fantasy Clippers? Who should be play Camby or Kaman on a week to week basis? Will Baron produce like last year?

Very inciteful. Why such a hard on for Baron? Do you think Camby can keep hs performance up throughout the season?
