Paul Gets Double-Double As Hornets Sting Heat 100-89

One night after losing a tough game to the Charlotte Bobcats, New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul recorded a double-double, and cooled off the Miami Heat 100-89. Paul along with his partner in crime power forward David West led all five Hornets starters in double figures. Miami guard Dwyane Wade topped all players as he scored 30 points in the loss.
The first quarter was well played by both teams as the crowd at the New Orleans Arena would see their team on top by a razor thin margin of 24-23 at the end of the period. Miami seemed to lose direction in the second quarter, scoring just 13 points. The Hornets went into the locker room at the half with a healthy 47-36 lead. The Heat got back on track in the second half but the damage had already been done. Miami was able to get their deficit down to single digits by the end of the third as New Orleans led 84-76 going into the game’s final 12 minutes. Rasual Butler opened up the fourth for the Hornets hitting a trey, putting his team up by 11 points. Miami would never get closer than 7 points down the rest of the game.
Paul scored 21 points, dished off 13 assists, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, in the victory for New Orleans. David West also scored 21, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, Tyson Chandler recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points, grabbing 10 boards, 1 block. Peja Stojalovic, scored 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Mo Peterson scored 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, Mike James came in off the bench and also put in 10 points, 2 assists.
D-Wade recorded a double-double with a game high 30 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal, as he continues to show he is fully recovered from last years injuries. Chris Quinn scored 14 points, coming in off the bench, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, Udonnis Haslem had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists. Shawn Marion had 10 points, 8 boards, 1 block, Michael Beasley scored 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. New Orleans now improves to 4-2, while Miami is now at 3-3.
