Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Game Recap

He came off the bench, played just 16 minutes, and scored just 3 points, with 2 rebounds, and 2 blocks. However Greg Oden was back playing for the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night, and more importantly he didn’t get hurt! Oh, and the Blazers also beat the Miami Heat 104-96, in a game that probably seems secondary to any fans of the team from the Great Northwest. Rudy Fernandez the player from Spain who is playing his first season in the Association, continues to impress as he led Portland coming off the bench with 25 points.
Portland pulled ahead in the early going and would lead at the end of the first quarter 27-19. Miami came back strong in the second quarter, but Fernandez drained a trey at the buzzer, and the Blazers still were on top at the half 50-47. Heat guard Chris Quinn would give his team the lead at the end of the third as he hit a mid-range jumper, was fouled on the play, and hit the shot at the line. Miami was ahead 75-73 as the two opponents went into the final period. But Portland took the advantage early in the fourth quarter, and never looked back.
Fernandez scored 25 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, in the Portland victory. Brandon Roy put in 22 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, LaMarcus Aldridge added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists. Travis Outlaw came in from the bench with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block.
Dwyane Wade had another incredible game in a losing effort. D-Wade dropped a game high 36 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals. Michael Beasley scored 14 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist, Daequan Cook put in 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, Quinnie came in off the bench for Miami and had 10 points, 5 assists, 1 rebound. The victory gives Portland a record of 5-3, Miami is now 4-4.
