Sacramento Kings head coach Reggie Theus broke the “Cardinal Rule of the Great and Powerful Stern” and will be punished as a result. The “Associated Press” reported that Theus has been fined $25 thousand for criticizing the officiating of a contest his team lost to the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night 100-92. Theus told reporters after the game that the disparity in the two teams trips to the charity stripe was “ridiculous.” The Pistons took 36 shots at the line, while the Kings only got 17 attempts. Any criticizing of game officials by players or coaches will incur the wrath of NBA Commissioner David Stern resulting in a fine.
