King James And His Court Crown Jazz; Cavaliers Win 105-93
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Game Recap

Two young teams on the rise, one from the Eastern Conference, and one from the Western took the floor at the Q Arena Saturday night as the Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the Utah Jazz. Both teams are expected to be near the top of their respective conferences when the regular season ends in April. The two opponents will face each other only twice this season unless they were to meet in the NBA Finals. Score game one of this two game set decidedly in the Cavaliers favor, as they defeated the Jazz 105-93. Once again LeBron James thrilled the hometown faithful as he led the way for Cleveland with a game high 38 points, as he was one of four of the team’s five starters to score in double figures.
The Cavaliers took the lead at the end of the first quarter, as they were up 25-21. Utah went on an 11-0 run to start the second period. Cleveland never could recover during the quarter, and the Jazz went into the locker room at the half leading 53-46. The Cavaliers turned it around during the third quarter, as they would take the lead as LBJ hit a pair at the line putting his team up 76-74 with 30 seconds left in the period. They would lead 80-76 as the two teams headed into the final 12 minutes of play. Utah would never get closer than four points down in the fourth.
James led all scorers with 38 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, in the Cleveland victory. Mo Williams had another strong game as he would put in 20 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block, Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Delonte West contributed 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, Ben Wallace had just 1 point, but he supplied what his team needs from him grabbing 10 boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks, 2 assists. When Wallace does the “dirty work” any points his team receives is gravy!
Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists. Paul Milsap came of the Utah bench and had 15 points, 8 rebounds, Ronnie Price scored 12 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block. C.J. Miles had 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Cleveland is now 8-2 after the win, while Utah now has a 6-4 record.
