Boozer-Palooza; Carlos Has Double-Double As Jazz Blot Out Suns 109-97

Carlos Boozer recorded a double-double, and led six Utah Jazz players in double figures, as the Jazz defeated the Phoenix Suns Monday 109-97. The Jazz got the crowd at the Energy Solutions Arena stoked, after coming back from a first quarter deficit. The victory puts Utah in sole possession of first place in the NBA Northwest Division.
After starting out slowly, the Suns would have the lead at the end of the first quarter 32-23. Phoenix early in the quarter took a 36-28 lead when Boris Diaw hit an outside shot with 9:03 left in the half. Utah kept chipping away, and took the lead as Andrei Kirilenko would hit four consecutive shots at the line, putting his team up 43-42 with 4:07 remaining. The Jazz would hold onto the lead and went into the locker room ahead 57-54.
The lead changed hands briefly at the beginning of the third quarter, but Utah had a healthy 83-77 advantage at the end of the period. Phoenix had one run left in them as they started off the fourth on a 7-3 spurt making it an 86-84 contest. The Jazz responded with a 17-2 run, making it a 103-86 game with 4:50 left to play, and virtually ending the game.
Carlos Boozer scored 21 points, grabbed 15 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, in the Utah victory. C.J. Miles also had 21 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, Andrei Kirilenko led the “bench bunch” with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks. Brevin Knight who turned 33 years old earlier this month, and is in his twelfth season in the Association, can still get it done, as he contributed 12 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Paul Millsap put in 11 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, Kyle Korver had 11 points also, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal.
Amare Stoudemire had another outstanding game for Phoenix as he dropped a game high 30 points, 1 steal, 1 block. Matt Barnes had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block, Steve Nash scored 14 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds. Utah improves to a record of 7-4, Phoenix is now 8-4.
