Law Firm Of Mason & Hill Get The Job Done For Spurs; Spank Jazz 119-94

Injuries have depleted the rosters of the San Antonio Spurs and the Utah Jazz. Friday night when the two opponents faced each other at the AT&T Center in San Antonio both squads were without some of their biggest stars. The Spurs were without sixth man Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker, the Jazz played minus guard Deron Williams and forward Carlos Boozer. The Spurs came up with a good solution; they dialed 1-800-GET-BSKT and brought in the law firm of Mason & Hill. Well actually it was guard Roger Mason who scored a game high 29 points, and guard George Hill who added 23 more as the Spurs blew out the Jazz 119-94.
San Antonio took over this game in the closing minutes of the first quarter, and never came close to being challenged the rest of the game. The Spurs who trailed Utah 24-22 1:23 left in the quarter gave the ball to Hill who scored 7 unanswered points to give his team a 29-24 lead at the end of the period. After leading by double digits most of the second period Utah cut the lead at the half to 61-53. The Jazz stayed within hailing distance for the start of the third, but San Antonio pulled away, leading 95-71 at the end of the quarter. The fourth quarter was just extended garbage time.
Roger Mason shot 10-17 from the floor, including 7-10 from outside the arc, and 2-2 at the line for 29 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. George Hill came off the bench and scored 23 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, Tim Duncan put in 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. Michael Finley added 14 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, Matt Bonner had 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. Ime Udoka contributed 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist.
Ronnie Brewer led the way for Utah with 17 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block. C.J. Miles recorded a double-double, 16 points, 10 boards, 5 assists, Mehmet Okur had 11 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 1 block. San Antonio with the victory improves to 6-6, while Utah is now 8-5.
