The crowd at Arco Arena probably could not believe their eyes on Friday night when the Portland Trail Blazers came to take on the Sacramento Kings; apparently the Trail Blazers had eagle eyes because they didn’t miss many shots (including 14 three-pointers); granted, the Kings didn’t shot poorly (50%), but Portland shot 55.6% from the floor.  The end result of the pinpoint shooting was Portland easily defeating Sacramento 117-96.

In what was a fast-paced first half, Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge scored 13 points in the second quarter, helping the Trail Blazers zoom to a 57-51 lead at halftime; Portland’s Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw drained a pair of treys apiece, joining Brandon Roy with 8 third quarter points when they doubled up Sacramento 37-18 in the third period, taking a sizable 94-69 into the fourth quarter – a lead they would not give up.

Portland’s high scorer was Blake with 20 points (including 6 threes), 2 rebounds and 5 assists while Aldridge added 19 with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal; Roy contributed, scoring 16 with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal while Outlaw from off the bench scored 15 with a rebound and an assist.  Joel Przybilla recorded a double-double, adding 10 points, grabbing 10 rebounds with a steal and 2 blocked shots.

Sacramento was led by rookie Jason Thompson with 19 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal while Brad Miller added 16 with 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal; Spencer Hawes came from off the bench to chip in 15 with 3 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 2 blocked shots.  Portland (8-5) next flies to Phoenix to take on the Suns Saturday night while Sacramento (5-9) goes south to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Sunday night.
