Kenyon Martin had arguably his best performance of the season recording 26 points off of 10 of 10 shooting, downing the Bulls 114-101. The Nuggets also found relief from their star Carmelo Anthony as he chipped in 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists (season high). Point guard Chauncey Billups and center Nene also contributed 21 points apiece.

Denver found themselves trailing late in the fourth quarter 99-96, with just over 5 minutes remaining. Carmelo Anthony answered the call with a back-to-back 3 pointer and break away dunk to jump start the Nuggets on an 18-2 run sealing the fate of the Bulls.

Ben Gordon hit 5 of 7 threes from downtown, finishing with 28 points. Rookie point guard Derrick Rose finished with 15 points and 6 assists and also gained some praise from Chauncey Billups after the game.

“”He’s already really good. He’s going to be really awesome,” Billups told reporters after the contest.

This win marks Denver’s fifth straight at home and moves them to 9-5 overall.

Since dealing Allen Iverson to the Pistons, the Nuggets have turned their season from a slow 1-3 start into a hot 8-2 rebound since adding Chauncey. Denver will try to continue their dominance on Wednesday against the free falling Clippers.

Luol Deng has been sidelined on this road trip with a strained hamstring, missing his third straight game for Chicago. Team officials say there is no timetable for his return.

The Bulls are on game 4 of a tough 7 game road trip, and are just 1-4 now on the excursion. They’ll look to rebound against the Jazz Monday night in Utah.
