Celtics Take Away Orlando’s Magic Win 107-88

The Boston Celtics shot 54.1% (40-74) from the floor for the game dominated the action for three out of four quarters and handily defeated the Orlando Magic Monday night 107-88. The “Green Team“ treated the fans at the “New Garden“ to the team’s ninth straight win. Boston won despite a 30 point game by Magic forward Rashard Lewis, and a double-double by center Dwight Howard.
The Celtics were hot in the first quarter, and Orlando looked like they needed a road map to find the basket. The combination would result in Boston leading at the end of the period 28-18. Orlando found their shots in the second, while the Celtics fell back to earth, the lead was down to just 2 points, 48-46 at the half. Paul Pierce hit a mid range jumper with 8:45 left in the third completing Boston’s starting the quarter on a 11-1 run to put the lead at 59-47. The score was still heavily in the Celtic’s favor heading into the fourth 77-65. The Magic never got within single digits of Boston at any time in the final 12 minutes of play.
Paul Pierce led his club with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, in the Boston victory. Ray Allen has been hot the last few games, and continued the trend as he had 21 points, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 rebound. Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double, 16 points, dishing off 12 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, Kevin Garnett scored 15 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Eddie House came off the bench and added 11 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal.
Rashard Lewis led all players with 30 points, 5 rebounds, Hedo Turkoglu added 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal. Dwight Howard credited with a double-double, 14 points, 15 boards, 4 blocks, 2 assists. Boston after the win has a 17-2 record, Orlando with the loss is 13-5.
