Bobble Head Night In Cleveland Means Tough Night For Knicks
Posted by Matt Loede under NBA Game Analysis
Maybe when the Cavs play the Knicks, they can just stop the games at halftime and stop wasting our time so we can get our Christmas shopping done. Just like last week, there was little to no reason to watch the second half this evening, as Quicken Loans Arena fans mostly stuck around to see if they won a golden LeBron James bobblehead as the Cavs crushed the Knicks 118-82.
Yes, it was LeBron James bobblehead night, and 23 lucky fans walked out with the precious golden bobblehead of the Akron native who the Knicks hope one day will bring them gold in the form of an NBA title. For now, James is for sure a member of the Cavs, a Cavs team that is 15-3, and 10-0 at home for the first time in their franchise history.
James had 21 points, a game high, and all 12 active players on the Cavs roster got in the scoring column. Five Cavs were in double digits, with Mo Williams (16 points), Zydrunas Illgauskas (14 points), Daniel Gibson (13 points), and Delonte West (12 points) all had over 10 along with James.
The Cavs shot close to 51 percent, holding the awful Knicks to just 38 percent shooting. You almost feel sorry for the Knicks, who are still trying to figure out how to play together after trading two of their top players recently and having to play the Cavs twice in a week, with both games being total blowouts.
Cleveland got off to a fast start, leading by 11 at the end of one, then did a quick job in the second quarter to put the game away, outscoring New York 30 to 15 to lead 61-35 at the half. Another 10-point advantage in the fourth quarter put the game totally out of reach, as the Cavs played with the Knicks most of the second half in going on for the 36-point trouncing.
The Cavs have won 14 of their last 15, with the only loss being on the road to the Pistons a few weeks back. They will be back at the Q on Friday night as they take on the Indiana Pacers, a team that actually hung with the Cavs before the Cavs beat them 111-107 on November 7th.
