While the Cavaliers continue to set records, they also continue to get to sit their starters in the fourth quarter. That trend continued on Saturday night, as the blowouts continued in Charlotte as the Cavs improved to an all-time franchise best 17-3 as they beat on the Charlotte Bobcats with a 94-74 win.

LeBron James had a game high 25 for the Cavs, and Daniel Gibson added 22. The Cavs starters had sort of an off night, as Delonte West was the teams second leading scorer when it came to starters with just eight points. The start of the game was a joke, as the Cavs ended the first quarter already up 30-14, as Charlotte started the night trailing 15-2, missing 14 of their first 16 shots.

The Cavs continued to roll in the second quarter, as James wrapped up a solid first half scoring nine points in the last 2:20 to give Cleveland a 55-35 lead. LeBron had 20 by the half, and those that were in attendance to see him do his MVP like best got to see it early enough to not have to wait around for the fourth quarter.

James also is now tied with Mark Price for the all-time team lead in steals. With a few days off, he’ll likely break the mark in a home game on Tuesday night vs Toronto. Zydrunas Illgauskas also is close on a record, as he’s four rebounds away from being the all-time leading rebounder for the Cavaliers. Another mark that will likely be shattered on Tuesday.

D.J. Augustin scored 17 points, and Raymond Felton had 15 for the Bobcats, but in the end they never had a shot against the swarming defense of the Cavs that made it for a long night for the Association’s lowest scoring team.

For the Cavs, it’s their eighth straight win, and all by at least 12 points, which ties an NBA record according to the Elias Sports Bureau. They are dominating teams night in and night out, and thoughts of playing into late May/early June seem right now to be almost a sure thing.

The team will get a few days to kick back and relax, and then take on the Raptors on Tuesday night at home.
