The “Star Tribune” reported Monday that Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Randy Wittman may be dismissed from his position in the very near future. According the the report T-Wolves Team Owner Glen Taylor wants to make the move, but wants Director of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale to take the reigns for the balance of the season. There appears to be some reservations in the former Boston Celtics Hall Of Fame forward about going to the bench. McHale filled the void in the 2004-2005 campaign after the team dismissed former coach Flip Saunders. Wittman who had previously been the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers has a record of 38-105 as bench boss of Minnesota. He would be the fourth coach fired in the Association this season.
