The Cavaliers went to the city of Brotherly Love on Wednesday night hoping to keep their winning streak intact, and while it wasn’t nearly as easy as the night before vs the Raptors, the team stayed poised and pulled out a hard fought 101-93 victory. The team is now 19-3, and they are breaking franchise records all across the board. They have won 10 in a row, 18 or their last 19, and haven’t lost since a November 19th setback to the Pistons.

The story of this victory was a big third quarter, as the team actually seemed to be a bit lagging for the first half, trailing 28-25 at the end of one, and then only leading 48-46 at the half. That third quarter was very much like Tuesday night, as the defense was the key while the offense of the Cavs took over, as they outscored the 76′ers 36-19 to go up 84-65 after the quarter.

The fourth was more about holding on, as the Sixers did a good job making it a game, but once again the team was able to get some big down the stretch rebounds, and also they did a sensational job at the line, hitting 16-of-18 free throws on the night to close out the eight-point victory.

LeBron James played 39 minutes, and led all scores with 29 points on 10-for-22 shooting, and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Mo Williams had maybe his best night as a Cavalier, going for 27 points on 11-for-16 shooting and six rebounds and four assists. The team only got 23 minutes from Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who left the game with a possible ankle sprain. He had nine points.

Anderson Varejao had 15 points off the bench for the Cavs, and eight rebounds. He would likely have to pick up the slack for “Z” if he cannot go in the back-to-back vs the 76′ers Friday night at home. As for the Sixers, they were led by Andre Iguodala, who had 27 points. Former Cavalier Andre Miller and Louis Williams each had 22 for Philly, who falls to 9-13.

While it wasn’t like the recent blowouts the Cavaliers have been putting on fellow teams, they still played a quality team on the road in a game when it would have been easy to have a letdown. They shot just 46 percent, but still managed to score 101 points, and forced 13 Philadelphia turnovers.

The team will be back for a rematch vs the 76′ers on Friday night at 7:30 at Quicken Loans Arena
