Toe Injury Will Keep Cavaliers’ Gibson Sidelined For Two Weeks

The Cavs have been lucky in that they have not suffered any major injuries so far in the 08-09 season, but today the injury bug finally caught up with them as they will be without sixth man Daniel Gibson for about the next two weeks with a sprained great toe (that would be big toe).

Here is the official email from the Cavs on the injury, which took place last night in the win over the Raptors. “Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson left last night’s game versus the Toronto Raptors with 9:50 remaining in the second quarter with a sprained left great toe. He was seen by Dr. Jim Sferra at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health today. A MRI and x-rays were performed. He is estimated to be out two weeks and will continue to be reevaluated.”

In 21 games this season, “Boobie” is putting up 9.4 points per game, and is shooting 40 percent from the field.
