Grizzlies Win 4th Straight, Cool Off Heat 102-86

At some point of time, if you have a youthful team, then eventually they will pay dividends for you in the form of victories.  The same can be said for the Memphis Grizzlies as they hosted the Miami Heat on Sunday; a pair of youngsters – O.J. Mayo and Rudy Gay – combined for 46 points, leading Memphis to their fourth straight win, 102-86, over Miami at FedEx Forum.

The first half was nothing to write home about in the first half as both teams stuggled on offense, with both teams going to their respective locker rooms tied at 46; however, the Grizzlies dominated in the third and fourth quarters as they outscored the Heat 35-20 in the third and 21-20 in the final period to cap the scoring.  Memphis was led by Mayo with 28 points (including 4-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal while Gay added 18 with 4 rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Michael Beasley led all Miami scorers with 20 points, 8 rebounds and a steal while Dwyane Wade added 17 with 2 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal.  Memphis (9-15) looks to make it 5 straight wins as they continue their homestand when they host the New Orleans Hornets on Tuesday while Miami (12-11) returns home to host the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
