Remember back in 2003 when LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony first entered the Association, and the NBA tied to promote their games as a rivalry? It certainly was in no way, shape, or form, a rivalry Friday night as LBJ recorded a double-double with a game high 33 points while Melo scored 13 points, and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat up the Denver Nuggets 105-88. Cleveland took a big lead during the first quarter, and Denver never quite found their footing during the game.

For all intent and purposes, this game ended in the first quarter, as the Cavaliers grabbed a 37-21 lead at the end of the period. Denver never got closer than 9 points behind Cleveland the rest of the night. As the two teams reached the half the Cavaliers were on top 64-53. Denver pulled to within 9 points, as Dahntay Jones drove the lane and put the ball up and in, to cut the Cleveland lead to 66-57 with 10:33 in the third. That would be the final time of the game that Denver would be within single digits, as the Cavaliers led 84-65 at the end of the third. The Nuggets never came close to being a threat in the the final 12 minutes of play.

LBJ just missed recording a triple-double, as he had a game high 33 points, 10 boards, and 8 assists, in the Cleveland victory. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, had another big night as the Cavaliers center put up 23 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal, while Delonte West added 22 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Chauncey Billups led Denver with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, while Carmelo Antony scored 13 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Anthony Carter came off the bench for Denver and he put in 12 points, and 4 assists, J.R. Smith added 11 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Linas Kleiza also came off the bench and he had 11 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. Cleveland with the win improves to 22-4, Denver is 17-9.
