Cavaliers Hot Fourth Puts Heat On Ice Cleveland Wins 93-86

The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 16-0 at home this season after a strong fourth quarter Sunday night led to a 93-86 victory over the Miami Heat. LeBron James led all players with a game high 33 points, as the Cavaliers bounced back after trailing Miami by 9 points heading into the final 12 minutes of play. Cleveland had 5 players in double figures, including Anderson Varejao who recorded a double-double.

The contest stayed tight in the first half, with both teams knotted up at 22-22 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was almost as close, as the Cavaliers walked into the locker room at the half with a paper thin lead of 44-42.

Cleveland point guard Mo Williams drained a 23 foot trey with 9:23 in the third to put his team up 49-44. Miami responded with 9 straight points taking a 53-49 advantage after Dwyane Wade and Shawn Marion made consecutive layups with 6:43 remaining in the the period. Wade drove the lane again and put the ball in the basket with 37 seconds to play in the quarter and Miami held a 67-58 lead at the end of the third. The Heat looked like they would remain in control early in the third, but Williams hit an outside jumper with 5:22 to play, giving Cleveland the lead for good at 79-77.

LeBron James led all players with 33 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 block, in the Cleveland victory. Mo Williams added 20 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal, while Anderson Varejao recorded a double-double, 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Delonte West scored 11 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 block, Zydrunas Ilgauskas put in 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 block.

Dwyane Wade scored 29 points for the Heat, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Udonis Haslem added 15 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block, while Daequan Cook had 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Cleveland with the victory now has a record of 26-4, Miami is now 16-13, the two teams will play again in Miami Tuesday night.
