Nets News And Notes

Some Nets tidbits, for those of you who follow the team:
Sean Williams, the Nets’ first-round pick back in 2007, has seen very little playing time with the team, so they sent him to their D-League team, the Colorado 14ers (what’s a 14er?). With Colorado, Williams is expected to learn how to play the perimeter – that’s codespeak for playing both forward positions – and see if he can help the Nets that way.
But there’s a bit of a problem – the Nets are stocked up at power forward (Yi Jianlian, Ryan Anderson and Eduardo Najera are ahead of him on the food chain) and there’s already three centers on the Nets (Brook Lopez, Josh Boone and Stromiler Swift). With that being the case, perhaps a trade is in the works; believe it or not, a couple teams have inquired about Williams – Memphis and Golden State being the frontrunners.
Speaking of big men, Nenad Krstic is no longer a Net as the team declined to sign his offer sheet; as a result, Krstic is now a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Which is like saying that Krstic got transferred from Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba to Pelican Bay correctional facility (a Supermax facility in northwest California). The transaction speaks volumes of the overabundance of big men on the Nets’ roster.
