Pietrus Shelved With Broken Wrist

One of the integral pieces of the Orlando Magic’s bench will be sidelined for at least the short-term future as the Detroit News reports that Magic guard/forward Mickael Pietrus will be out indefinitely after breaking his wrist on Monday; Pietrus was injured during Orlando’s game against the Detroit Pistons when during the second quarter, he banged into Jason Maxiell and landed awkwardly on his arm and back.  X-rays proved to be negative; however, an MRI taken on Tuesday showed a broken wrist.

Pietrus was appearing in his fifth straight game on Monday after having missed 10 with a torn ligament in his right thumb.  This season, prior to his most recent injury, Pietrus was averaging 11.7 PPG and was a 3-point threat from off the bench.
