Pistons Stuckey And T-Wolves Jefferson Named NBA Players Of The Week

The NBA announced Monday that two young players on the rise were named as NBA Players Of The Week for games played between Monday December 29, through Sunday January 4. Detroit Pistons second year point guard Rodney Stuckey was named by the Association as the Eastern Conference Player Of The Week. Minnesota Timberwolves center Al Jefferson was awarded the honor in the Western Conference.
Stuckey helped the Pistons to a 4-0 record during the week, as he averaged 23.0 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. The Pistons currently are riding a 7 game winning streak, which started after he was inserted into the starting lineup. Jefferson who was the key acquisition in the deal that sent Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics was beneficial in the T-Wolves going 3-1 during the week. The center shot 52.4% for the week, averaging 27.3 points, and 12.3 boards during the four games.
