Redd Hurt As Bucks Nip Kings 106-104

Retribution was in the cards for the Milwaukee Bucks as they were looking to come back from an embarrassing 30-point loss to the Atlanta Bucks on Friday; fortunately for them, their opponent for their game on Saturday was the Sacramento Kings.  Don’t get me wrong, anything can happen on any given NBA night.  But folks, this is the Sacramento Kings after all.  Anyways, both teams played a surprisingly close game for most of 48 minutes but a pair of free throws by Luc Richard Mbah a Moute with 3.3 seconds left did the trick as Milwaukee narrowly defeated Sacramento 106-104 at Bradley Center.

Brad Miller played a big part in Sacramento doing well in the first half as he scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, helping the Kings take a 63-62 lead into halftime; Milwaukee would go on a 7-2 run to go into the fourth quarter leading 84-82.  The Bucks would lose guard Michael Redd in the third quarter as he strained his right knee; he will undergo an MRI on Sunday.

Charlie Villanueva would score a pair of baskets which gave the Bucks a 103-99 lead with 2:22 left in the game; Kevin Martin would then score on a layup and Francisco Garcia hit a 3-pointer which gave the Kings a 104-103 lead with 1:24 to go.  Ramon Sessions would make a free throw with 53 seconds remaining to tie the game at 104 then Milwaukee would ice the game when Richard Jefferson made a free throw with 16 ticks left on the game clock.

Jefferson led all Milwaukee scorers with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal while Villanueva added 18 with 10 rebounds and an assist; Francisco Elson grabbed 12 rebounds.  Sacramento was led by Martin with 20 points, a rebound, an assist but committed 6 turnovers while Garcia added 19 with a rebound and 2 assists; Jason Thompson pitched in 16 with 9 rebounds and a blocked shot while Brad Miller nearly reached a triple-double as he scored 14 with 13 rebounds and 9 assists.  Milwaukee (22-25) plays again on Monday when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves while Sacramento (10-34) goes further east to Toronto to take on the Raptors on Sunday.
