Golden State Warriors forward Corey Maggette
Two of the NBA’s weaklings, the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors got together for 48 minutes of hardwood battle at Oracle Arena – with neither team going anywhere fast.  However, it was a game of retribution of sorts for former Clipper Corey Maggette as he scored 20 against his former team, leading Golden State to the easy 107-92 victory over Los Angeles.

The Warriors outscored the Clippers in every quarter but the fourth; Golden State, after an eight-point deficit, offensively exploded with a 23-5 run to end the first quarter and would build an 18-point lead on a Ronnie Turiaf dunk halfway through the second quarter.  They would take into their locker room a 55-44 lead and would go into the final quarter comfortably ahead 84-64.

Golden State’s high scorer was Maggette with 20 points, 6 rebounds, an assist and a steal while Anthony Morrow added 17 (including 3 three-pointers) with 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals; Kelenna Azubuike chipped in 16 with 9 rebounds, 6 assists, a steal and a blocked shot.

Los Angeles was led by Eric Gordon with 21 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal while Al Thornton added 17 with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots; Ricky Davis poured in 15 with 2 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals while rookie DeAndre Jordan, although scoring only 8 points, grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds.  Golden State (14-31) plays again on Wednesday when they travel to Texas to take on the Dallas Mavericks while Los Angeles (10-33) returns home to host the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.
