The Knicks managed to maintain a double-digit lead until a 3-pointer by Indiana’s Danny Granger cut their deficit to 9 with three minutes left in the third quarter.
The Knicks would build their lead back up to 14 and took a 99-87 advantage into the fourth quarter. Indiana would make it interesting as they reduced their deficit to 116-109 on T.J. Ford’s layup with 54 seconds left in the game; New York would answer back with a Harrington dunk and a pair of Chris Duhon free throws, sealing the win for New York.
