The NBA announced Monday that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James has been named as the NBA Eastern Conference Player Of  The Week. Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Pau Gasol who handed James and the Cleveland Cavaliers their first home loss on Sunday was awarded the honor in the Western Conference. The award covers games played between February 2, through February 8.

LBJ helped his team to a 2-1 record during the week. The All-Star averaged 33.7 points, 9.0 assists, and 8.0 rebounds in the three games. This is the fifth time during this season that James has won the award. Gasol was a key reason that Los Angeles had a 4-0 week, with road wins in Boston and Cleveland. Gasol averaged 26.o points, and 13.8 boards over the four game stretch.
