Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Injuries, NBA News

The “Associated Press” reported Monday that Minnesota Timberwolves center Al Jefferson has found his season has come to an abrupt finish because of injury. The player who was the centerpiece of the trade that sent Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics before last season, has suffered a torn ACL in his right knee, and is done for the campaign.
Jefferson was injured Sunday in a loss to the New Orleans Hornets, the tear was revealed through an MRI on Monday. The center had been the leading scorer and rebounder on the club this year, as he had averaged 23.1 points, 10.9 boards per contest. T-Wolves head coach Kevin McHale told reporters “We’ll miss Al in every aspect, from his personality to his play to his presence to everything else. He’s such a good kid. Your heart goes out to the kid.”
