McDonald’s All-American Game Rosters Announced

Back in 2003 at what was then known in Cleveland as Gund Arena, I had the opportunity to cover Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James for the first time as he participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game. Boston Celtics forward Leon Powe also played in the contest, it was a very well run event, and we got to see two future NBA players in their infancy.

The McDonald’s All-American Game has been held since 1977, and it has featured some of the biggest names in the history of the Association. The picture you are seeing is a perfect example; it is the 1981 edition, if you look closely you can see a very young Chris Mullin, Patrick Ewing, and yes Number 23 himself Michael Jordan!
