The Los Angeles Lakers always have entertaining, competitive against their Friday night opponent, the Golden State Warriors.  The game would not disappoint as they came from a sizable deficit in the last 5 minutes to defeat Golden State 129-121 at Oracle Arena.

Jamal Crawford had a good early start as he scored 14 points in the first quarter and Golden State held the lead throughout the first half, taking a 68-62 into halftime.  Kobe Bryant tied the game for the Lakers when he blocked Corey Maggette’s shot then threw a long pass to Josh Powell for the dunk; Los Angeles would reclaim the lead  in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter but would relinquish it again until Tony Ariza’s 3-pointer iced the game for the Lakers.

Los Angeles was led by Bryant with 30 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots while Pau Gasol added 24 with 13 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal; Lamar Odom chipped in 22 with 7 rebounds, a steal and 2 blocked shots while Ariza pitched in 17 (including 3 three-pointers) with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.  Powell poured in 15 with 7 rebounds and an assist.

Golden State Warriors had 6 players in double-digits, with Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette sharing scoring honors with 24 points each – with Jackson grabbing 6 rebounds, dishing out 9 assists along with a steal and 2 blocked shots but turning the ball over 6 times while Maggette grabbed 2 rebounds and dished out 4 assists; Jamal Crawford added 23 (including 3 treys) with 3 rebounds, an assist and a steal while Monta Ellis pitched in 15 with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals while Anthony Randolph secured a double-double, scoring 14 with 12 boards.  Los Angeles (44-10) plays again on Friday when they return home to host the New Orleans Hornets while Golden State (19-36) remains at home to host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.
