T-Mac For Baron Davis Deal Brewing?

It appeared that New Jersey Nets swingman Vince Carter was a lock to be dealt to the Houston Rockets, but the NBA being the strange bird that it can be at times – especially around the trading deadline – can spring some surprising rumors.  The latest rumor has Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady going to the Los Angeles Clippers for guard Baron Davis, according to a source familiar with the situation. 

I can’t say who would benefit the most long-term in this scenario, but the Clippers would have to be creative with Davis’ contract (first year of a 5-year, $65 million deal) in order for this to work.  But on the flip side, Clippers coach Mike Dunleavyand Davis don’t exactly get along so perhaps that’s motivation to get the deal done.  When more developments become available, Slam Dunk Central will have them for you.
