For the Cleveland State Vikings, it was fun while it lasted.  In their game on Sunday against the Arizona Wildcats at Miami, they simply lost their offensive mojo as they shot only 37% from the floor while Arizona shot an even 50% – with the end result being the Wildcats bouncing the Vikings from the NCAA tournament 71-57.

The Wildcats ran early, gaining an early 7-0 lead and would increase their advantage to 28-14 while Cleveland State missed 16 of their first 21 shots; Arizona would go into halftime with a 35-25 lead.  The Vikings trailed 41-29 then reduced their deficit to 48-44 halfway through the second half but could not get any closer.

Arizona’s high scorer was Nic Wise with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and a steal while Jordan Hill added 16 with 9 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block; Chase Budinger and Jamelle Horne scored 15 each – with Budinger grabbing 5 rebounds along with a steal while Horne grabbed 5 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.  Cleveland State was led by Norris Cole with 17 points, a rebound, 2 assists and a steal while Cedric Jackson added 15 with 5 rebounds, an assist along with 5 steals.  Arizona’s next opponent on Friday in Indianapolis is Louisville.
