Undermanned Warriors Hold Off Kings 105-100
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under NBA Game Recap

The Golden State Warriors, despite having several players unable to play due to injury, seem to thrive as they – prior to their game on Sunday against the Sacramento Kings – came armed with a 2-game winning streak. Neither team shot well, but apparently Kelenna Azubuike had the Kings’ number as he scored 30 points, leading Golden State to a 105-100 win over Sacramento at Arco Arena.
The Warriors finished the third quarter on a 21-8 run, including 8 points by Azubuike to take an 86-69 lead into the fourth quarter. Golden State led by 96-81 with 5 minutes left to go but Sacramento put together a 16-4 run, led by Jason Thompson’s 7 points; however, Beno Udrih and Francisco Garcia missed key shots for the Kings in the final 30 seconds, and the Warriors hit free throws to hold on for the victory.
Golden State’s high scorer was Azubuike with 30 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal while Jamal Crawford added 20 (including three 3-pointers) with 8 rebounds and 4 assists; Anthony Morrow and C.J. Watson chipped in 18 each – with Morrow hitting four treys, grabbing 2 rebounds, dishing out 2 assists along with a steal while Watson grabbed 5 boards, dished out 6 assists along with 3 steals.
Sacramento had seven players score in double-digits, led by Bobby Jackson from off the bench with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal while Udrih added 16 with 6 rebounds, 6 assists and a block; Thompson notched a double-double as he scored 14 with 11 rebounds. Golden State (28-49) plays again on Wednesday when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves while Sacramento (16-60) hosts the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
