Although the Indiana Pacers more than likely will not make the playoffs, you cannot accuse them of playing out the string. In Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors at Conseco Fieldhouse, they played like a team that was actually in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt; they shot 54.9% from the floor as they easily disposed of the Raptors 130-101.
The Pacers truly exploded offensively as they took a 74-48 lead into their locker room at halftime; Indiana continued to pour it on as they made their first 5 shots of the third quarter to take an 88-56 advantage. They got to the 100-point mark with 3:33 left in the period and took a 115-74 cushion into the fourth period. Toronto obviously would not recover from the offensive onslaught.
Six Pacers scored in double-digits, led by Danny Granger with 29 points, 4 rebounds, an assist and a block while Jarrett Jack added 23 with 5 rebounds and 6 assists; Roy Hibbert chipped in 17 with 7 rebounds and a block while Troy Murphy and T.J. Ford scored 14 each – with Murphy grabbing 14 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists along with a steal and a block while Ford grabbed 3 boards, dished out 11 assists along with 2 steals.
Toronto was led by Chris Bosh with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists while Patrick O’Bryant added 16 with 7 rebounds and a block. Indiana (34-44) plays again on Friday when they travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks while Toronto (30-48) returns home to host the Washington Wizards – also on Friday night.
