Ainge Reportedly Resting Comfortably After Heart Attack

The “Associated Press” reported Thursday that Boston Celtics General Manager Danny Ainge is recovering from a heart attack he suffered on Thursday. The former Celtics guard turned executive is in a Boston Hospital after having the cardiac episode. Ainge was not at the Boston season finale Wednesday after waking up with chest pains Wednesday morning. The team issued a statement on the Director of Basketball Operations condition; “Danny Ainge is recovering at Massachusetts General Hospital after having a minor heart attack. He is recovering nicely. Mr. Ainge is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days.”
The Celtics will start their first round playoff series at the “New Garden” Saturday. Ainge is not expected to be in attendance. Boston Team Owner Wyc Grousbeck also issued a statement to the press. Grousbeck said “All of Celtics Nation is thankful that Danny got incredible medical care so quickly and so effectively. We wish him, Michelle and the kids all the best and know he will be back with us very soon.”
