The “Denver Post” has reported that Denver Nuggets shooting guard J.R. Smith has stated that he is not about to allow Dallas Mavericks Team Owner Mark Cuban to get under his skin during the upcoming second round NBA Playoff series between the Nuggets and the Mavericks. The shooting guard who just finished his fifth regular season in the Association has a history with the controversial Dallas owner that stems from an incident that occurred in January.

Smith and Cuban got into a shout-fest after the Mavericks boss accused the guard of throwing an elbow at Dallas guard Antoine Wright. Smith was not penalized by the Association however Cuban was fined 25 grand for his antics.

Smith told reporters that he is aware may try to renew the controversy in the upcoming series. The guard though says it will be no distraction to him in the least. Smith said “I’m not a big fan of his and I think everybody knows that. He’s just another thing we have to get by on the way to the championship. I don’t care about Cuban or Wright; why should I? I just need to go out and play my game.” The seven game series begins on Sunday in Denver.
