Heat Shut Down Hawks 98-72; Force Game Seven

Dwyane Wade looked like he was feeling absolutely no pain on Friday night as he scored a game high 41 points as he strapped his team the Miami Heat onto his back and led them to victory over the Atlanta Hawks 98-72. The game six victory will force a game seven Sunday at Phillips Arena in Atlanta.
Rookie forward Michael Beasley came off the bench for Miami with 22 points but the real key to the victory came on the defensive side of the ledger. The Heat held the Hawks to an anemic 37% (27-73) from the floor for the game as Atlanta only scored 20 or more points in one quarter.
Miami set the tone in the first 12 minutes of play and really were never in any danger of losing the game after that. The Heat grabbed a 32-18 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Atlanta responded some what in the second but Miami still walked into the locker room on top 51-42.
Any momentum the Hawks may have gotten during the second evaporated quickly when the two teams returned in the third as Atlanta trailed 78-56. The final quarter was nothing but extended garbage time.
Playing without center Jermaine O’Neal and forward Jamario Moon both out due to injuries D-Wade took his game to the next level Friday night. The All-Star guard just flat out dominated as he scored 41 points, 5 rebounds, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks in the victory. Rookie Michael Beasley acme off the bench and recorded a double-double with 22 points, 15 boards and 1 assist while James Jones added 11 points and 3 rebounds.
Hawks point guard Mike Bibby led the way for his club as he knocked down 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in the loss. Joe Johnson scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists while Flip Murray came off the pine and added 13 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. The two teams will face off for all the marbles on Sunday in Atlanta.
